RSYN PRESS uses a rigorous peer review process to ensure the scientific and scholarly quality of published work. Our peer review process is compliant with COPE guidelines and registered with the DOAJ.
1. Review Model
All research articles undergo double-blind peer review: authors do not know the identity of reviewers, and reviewers do not know the identity of authors. This protects against bias and ensures objectivity.
2. Review Process
Initial check: All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment for scope, originality, and compliance with submission guidelines.
Assignment: Suitable manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers.
Review period: Reviewers are asked to complete their review within 21 days.
Decision: Based on reviewer recommendations, the editor makes one of four decisions: Accept; Minor revisions; Major revisions; Reject.
Appeals: Authors may appeal editorial decisions. See our Appeals Policy.
3. Reviewer Selection Criteria
Reviewers are selected on the basis of subject expertise, publication record, and absence of conflicts of interest. We recognise the value of diversity and actively seek reviewers across career stages, geographies, and institutions.
4. Open Review
Where authors and reviewers consent, signed reviews may be published alongside accepted manuscripts. This supports transparency and rewards constructive peer review in accordance with recommendations from FOSTER Open Science.
5. Reviewer Recognition
We acknowledge the contributions of reviewers annually and issue peer review certificates. Reviewer activity may be reported to Web of Science Reviewer Recognition (Publons) with consent.
