This policy applies to appeals against editorial decisions on submitted manuscripts and to complaints about editorial processes, publication ethics, or the conduct of editors, reviewers, or authors.
2. Appeals Against Rejection
Authors may appeal a rejection decision within 30 days of notification. An appeal must:
Be submitted in writing to the editor-in-chief at raman@rsyn.org
Provide specific, substantive reasons why the decision should be reconsidered
Address each point raised in the rejection letter
Not include revised manuscript content (appeals are on process or reasoning, not revised work)
Appeals are reviewed by an editor not involved in the original decision. The outcome of an appeal is final. Note that disagreeing with the decision is not, in itself, grounds for appeal.
3. Complaints About Process or Conduct
Complaints should be submitted in writing to the editor-in-chief. If the complaint involves the editor-in-chief, it should be directed to the publisher at publishing@rsynbooks.com. We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 5 working days and provide a substantive response within 30 days.
4. External Escalation
If a complaint is not resolved satisfactorily at the journal level, complainants may refer the matter to COPE. COPE does not act as an arbitration service but can provide guidance and may issue a formal recommendation.
